The Spring edition of our bi-annual publication the Fortune News is out now! 

Fortune News is a unique platform that amplifies the voices of current and formerly incarcerated individuals, community supporters, and advocates. It offers a glimpse into Fortune’s initiatives and the issues that deeply affect the lives of those impacted by the criminal legal system. We are proud to include pieces written by currently and formerly incarcerated people that inspire and inform, as well as those by advocates and experts committed to criminal legal reform. 

The theme of this edition is Addressing Justice for Women, highlighting the unique challenges women face during both incarceration and reentry.  

In this issue, Tarra Simmons, a current Washington State Representative, sheds light on some of these obstacles; Founder, President and CEO of Operation Restoration (OR), Syrita Steib, shares her experience after incarceration that informed the creation of OR, and the transformative power of advocacy and education during reentry.
