Upon his release from prison, Rodney was a “man in pain.” After serving 32 years, Sam was seeking a safe place while reentering the community. Following her incarceration, Brittany acutely felt the stigma of her justice history.
These three individuals with justice involvement, each with unique circumstances, are linked by a common thread: They came to The Fortune Society, and found hope, community, and a fresh start here.
As with over 7,000 individuals that we serve annually in our community, Fortune empowered Rodney, Sam, and Brittany to rebuild and transform their lives, step by step.
To do this work, . It provides us with the capacity and resources to help as many individuals with justice involvement as possible build positive, productive lives. And it fuels our advocacy efforts, which helps remove systemic barriers that prevent people like Rodney, Brittany, and Sam from succeeding.
This year, we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Since 1967, we’ve given hope, thanks to the incredible partnership of people like you.
#GivingTuesday is on November 28. In celebration, watch Rodney, Sam, and Brittany share their stories. We invite you to by making a donation to our efforts. Encourage others, too.
Together, we can continue transforming lives and advocating for a fairer justice system.
