On Sunday, November 3, we attended the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon to cheer on the Fortune Flyers! 

The Fortune Flyers team is made up of 10 members who ran to raise awareness and funds for our mission, directly supporting successful reentry from incarceration. They have been training for weeks in preparation for Marathon Day with support from our team captain and co-coach, David Kochman.  

Positioned just past the halfway mark, our cheering squad celebrated some of our most dedicated supporters for their commitment to Fortune’s mission. On Marathon Day, we brought music, snacks, motivational posters and a ton of fun. 

This year, the Fortune Flyers included familiar faces like Marco, a former participant running to support Fortune for a third year, and some new ones like Scotty, a dedicated Fortune staff member. All of the Fortune Flyers completed the race, and we were thrilled to be there for such an incredible accomplishment. Check out their running times! 

David Kochmanm, our team captain, finished in 3 hours and 51 minutes

Andrea Albertini finished in 4 hours and 29 minutes 

Scotty Holland finished in 5 hours and 22 minutes.  

John Mannheimer finished in 3 hours and 26 minutes, the fastest on our team! 

Adam Moriwaki finished in 4 hours and 53 minutes  

Joanna Laine finished in 5 hours and 33 minutes 

Marine Mourat finished in 3 hours and 54 minutes 

Harris Lieberman finished in 4 hours and 2 minutes 

Thompson Green finished in 4 hours and 2 minutes 

And Marco Whittaker finished in 5 hours and 14 minutes!
