Art is magical. Through organizations like Rehabilitation Through the Arts (R.T.A.) and The Fortune Society, that magic shines through in its ability to transform justice-involved individuals, offering them paths to tranquility and self-confidence.
R.T.A.’s Charles Moore, for instance, found job security as the organization’s program and alumni coordinator after working with them prior to his community reentry. And Fortune’s art teacher Guy Woodward mastered pointillism while incarcerated, gaining him the nickname Picasso. He now shares that expertise to eager Fortune participants each week.
