Cuomo pardons immigrant Ground Zero worker who faces deportation for 1990 drug crime

We are happy to see Governor Andrew Cuomo grant clemency to Carlos Cardona, a former Ground Zero recovery worker who was detained in February, and has been in danger of deportation to Colombia ever since. As Fortune President and CEO JoAnne Page states, Cardona’s deportation “would be a tragic loss to his family and to New York State. In issuing (clemency) to Mr. Cardona, Gov. Cuomo demonstrates both compassion and courageous leadership.”
