At 18, Kingsley Rowe Went to Prison for 10 Years. Now He’s 47 and Still Wonders When He’ll Be Free

There has been little national attention or effective reform for the plight of people coming home. After extensive stays in prison — especially for [people convicted of violent offenses] — another challenge is presented: How do people navigate the limited avenues available to formerly incarcerated individuals in order to survive life after prison?

Kingsley Rowe, who was formerly incarcerated, was denied employment due to his experience in the criminal justice system. Ronald Day, Associate Vice President at The Fortune Society, shares his thoughts in this article.
