Everyone deserves a safe, stable place to live that supports access to opportunity. For people with justice system involvement, the doors to housing are often closed at every turn. Discrimination, scarcity, affordability, and policy limitations put stable housing out of reach for many people with criminal records.
Through interactive discussion and active audience contribution, we will explore these barriers and successful approaches to overcoming them. Throughout the day, we will develop a shared platform for increasing housing opportunities for this marginalized population.
This event will start at 8:30 am on October 27th and be held at the following location:
John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Student Dining Hall
524 West 59th Street
New York, New York 10019
