    Position Summary:

    The Senior Director of Policy will have a deep persona commitment to and professional knowledge of legal system reform and other corollary policy issues (employment, education, housing, etc.). The Senior Director of Policy will manage the daily on-site operations for DRCPP, and may include supervising interns/fellows/volunteers. The Senior Director of Policy will work with the Associate Vice President of Policy to develop and guide the vision and issue priorities annually for DRCPP. The Senior Director of Policy will represent and speak on behalf of the agency in various forums. This role will participate and oversee all research on administrative and policy changes that could remove barriers which are currently preventing formerly incarcerated people from thriving as leaders in the community. The Senior Director of Policy will play a key role in leading the strategy to maintain and expand The Fortune Society’s network of partners engaged in advocacy by conducting critical research, developing strategies, developing and documenting our housing model and building relationships with key players and stakeholders, including policy makers, who can help advance the needs of people directly impacted by the justice system.

    Position Summary:

    The Housing Specialist hired for this role will support The Fortune Society’s Individualized Correction Achievement Network (ICAN) and Networking and Engagement Support Team (NEST) program participants with securing safe, appropriate and affordable emergency (immediate), transitional, and temporary and/or long-term housing. Some participants are currently housed in NYC jails and have communicated their housing needs to our jail-based Discharge Planners. The housing needs of the participants are documented in their individualized discharge plans. In addition to placing participants into a variety of housing options, the Housing Specialist will develop a robust network of housing referral agencies, to ensure ongoing placement and consistent cultivation of housing providers.

    Position Summary:

    The Director of Major Gifts and Communications is responsible for achieving the Fortune Society’s non-government fundraising goals by building, diversifying and increasing funding from individual and major donors (including private foundations and corporations) with the goal of increasing flexible and sustainable private donations to the organization. The Director will build on existing donor relationships and create new donor pipeline strategies, establishing measurable goals and objectives as part of a successful team. S/he will manage the current portfolio of donors while leading senior staff and board members in bringing in and cultivating new donor prospects. This position leads the Agency’s overall communications strategy including traditional and social media, development of promotional materials and publications, and leadership in branding and strengthening the agency’s programmatic and advocacy reputation and footprint in the field.
