    To support a fair and complete count, The Fortune Society is working in partnership with the City University of New York (CUNY), Mayor de Blasio’s NYC Census 2020 office, and the New York City Council to mobilize New Yorkers to self-respond to the 2020 census.

    The Fortune Society is seeking an exceptionally qualified candidate for the role of Outreach Captain. Under the leadership of the Census Manager, the Outreach Captain will supervise Outreach Workers and ensure the identification and dismantling of barriers to census participation. The Outreach Captain will also work to connect New Yorkers to the tools and resources they need to participate in the 2020 census.

    Position Summary:

    The Fortune Society is seeking to fill the position of Employment Specialist under the supervision of the Manager of Transitional Fellowships, who will work with Employment Services team to properly place graduates of our corporate fellowship programs into permanent positions. The Corporate Fellowship, a bi-annual 16 week employment partnership between our corporate partner and their businesses, recruits the most qualified work-ready graduates from Fortune’s employment services program.

    The Employment Specialist will conduct outreach and build relationships with outside employers in order to help place participants into sustainable work opportunities. He/She will work with fellows of former, current, and future cohort to continue their job development skills and align them with opportunities that fit their long-term career goals. The Employment Specialist will be required to work across multiple office locations and platforms in order to maintain communication with the Manager of Transitional Fellowships and other Program Team members as needed in real time.
