The Fortune Society currently boasts over 190 full and part-time employees, the vast majority of whom – approximately 70% – are formerly incarcerated and/or have histories of substance abuse or homelessness. Over 80% are persons of color. Fortune actively recruits staff with this life experience because we believe strongly in the concept of peer support. Our clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences with people they can relate to and emulate.

Our diverse leadership team has decades of cumulative experience in both organizational management and supporting underserved populations through reentry and other social services.  In fact, much of our senior team has been promoted directly from within the ranks of Fortune’s front-line staff.  Under their leadership, The Fortune Society works everyday to change minds and build lives.
