Our outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment program offers a holistic approach geared towards the overall improvement of each client’s mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
In 1991, faced with the need to connect our clients with treatment programs sensitive to the specific needs of the formerly incarcerated, we developed our own licensed, medically-supervised outpatient treatment program. When our clients first enter the program, which lasts between six and twelve months, they undergo a variety of screenings and baseline drug tests to help us design a treatment program based on their individual needs. These include intensive one-on-one and group counseling sessions, in addition to the broad array of other resources available at Fortune and in the community, such as detoxification programs and residential treatment programs. Our group model is outcome-based and uses evidence-based curriculum. Clients move through cycles and earn credits to successfully complete their programs.
As our clients reach specific milestones of sobriety, they graduate to Relapse Prevention (including aftercare plans to help them maintain their sobriety) and Aftercare (including replace prevention groups and education classes). We encourage our clients to return to us for more services whenever they need them. Once our clients join the Fortune community, they can always rely on us to help them navigate whatever challenges arise in their lives that may threaten their ability to stay on course.
FORTUNE’S SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
FlameTREE: A day-treatment program designed to help individuals battling substance abuse make the transition from criminal activity to positive, productive livelihoods by helping them understand their substance abuse patterns and develop the necessary skills and tools to maintain sobriety.
TARGET: This program is designed to help people in recovery understand the range of possible connections between trauma and substance abuse, and increase their self-efficacy in coping with symptoms related to their trauma. It also helps clients learn to develop positive relationships and behaviors, improves sobriety outcomes and risk reduction behaviors, and increases connections to HIV rapid-preliminary antibody testing, other supportive and educational/skills development services, and housing.
Continuity in Treatment: This program provides Moral Reconation Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and support services to adults with histories of substance abuse as they return to the community post incarceration. The project integrates pre-release assessment and planning with community treatment and wrap-around supportive service provision, in order to reduce both relapse and recidivism. Another key component of this program is the establishment of partnerships with correctional facilities, community corrections, and community-based providers.
Treatment Services also offers services such as Art Therapy and other recreational/educational activities, which are designed to help clients address the root cause(s) of their substance dependency through interactive learning.
