Castle Spring Arts Flyer- 500x540

Castle Gardens Arts Series Continues!

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Founded by David Rothenberg in 1967 and named in honor of the play, “Fortune and Men’s Eyes,” which was written by a formerly incarcerated playwright, The Fortune Society’s roots have always been deeply connected with theater and the arts. As we have evolved, we’ve learned how to use the arts in new ways as a means to push for criminal justice reforms, producing “The Castle” and “The Castle II” that feature the amazing stories of some of our formerly incarcerated housing residents. The Castle Gardens Arts Series is the next phase of Fortune’s evolution in using performing arts as a means of raising awareness about incarceration and reentry. From March through June 2014, we will feature monthly Sunday afternoon performances at Castle Gardens, our newest state-of-the-art “green” housing facility located in West Harlem.

We hope you will join us for one or more of these incredible performances!
