Imam Salahuddin M. Muhammad

Imam Salahuddin M. Muhammad is the spiritual leader of the Islamic Learning Center of Orange County (Masjid Al Jihad Al Akbar) in Newburgh, New York. He is a Muslim chaplain, registered and certified by the National Association of Muslim Chaplains, and has served as a chaplain for the New York State Department of Corrections since 1985.
He has been a devoted student of Islam since 1964 and has lectured extensively on the religion and related issues. Imam Muhammad earned a B.A. in Social Sciences from SUNY, New Paltz and a Masters of Professional Studies in theology and counseling from the New York Theological Seminary. He teaches college courses as Adjunct Professor at Mercy College and Marist College and is a member of the chaplaincy at Bard College.
