Eric A. Seiff

As a partner at Scoppetta Seiff Kretz and Abercrombie, Mr. Seiff has been engaged in the general practice of law since 1980. Mr. Seiff’s work at the firm heavily emphasizes litigation involving criminal defense and all aspects of family law. He also represents physicians, attorneys, and judges in disciplinary proceedings, drafts wills and trusts, and handles civil and criminal appeals. During his tenure at the firm, Mr. Seiff served on extra assignment as the Special District Attorney for Bronx County, NY, in 1986.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Seiff served as Chairman of the New York State Investigation Commission where he initiated and shaped investigations focusing on various aspects of improper conduct by state and local officials. During this period, he also served as First Deputy Commissioner for the same body. Additionally, he was the Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of NY in 1975, investigating prosecutorial misconduct following the Attica uprising.
Mr. Seiff’s career highlights include: Deputy Chief, Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society of New York City; General Counsel, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services; Legal Advisor to the Alliance for Progress in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and Assistant Counsel, Office of the General Counsel Agency for International Development and Assistant District Attorney, New York County. Mr. Seiff holds an L.L.B from Columbia Law School and a B.A from Yale University.
