We are very pleased to announce that a new issue of Fortune News, one of The Fortune Society's earliest organizing tools, is coming in August 2008!
Back in 1967, the newsletter was little more than a one-page mimeographed flyer – edited by our founder, David Rothenberg – that kept subscribers up-to-date on Fortune’s activities. Over the years, the News has grown into a forum for formerly incarcerated individuals and advocates to discuss personal experiences within the criminal justice system and map out strategies for reform. Fortune News remains one of our primary outreach tools and has grown into an international publication, produced three times a year, with a circulation of 28,000.
The Fortune News is available free of charge to incarcerated men and women. Please print the following information clearly: first name; last name; ID number; correctional facility; address; city; state; zip code. Be sure to indicate whether the request is a renewal, a transfer, or new supscription request.
